On Monday (a week after Angelin'a birthday), we celebrated again with Longtime friend Aunt MaryAnn, Nancy and Gundi (MaryAnn's mom). The kids were here too; Maxine, Brian, Alex and Josephine (who just came home from Guatemala!) We had a nice day and Angelina LOVED the company!

Week one was rough. We slept all afternoon and got up in the evening. Then we went back to bed in the middle of the night. Angelina hated the high chair, playpen, car seat and crib. She slept with us on week one.

We went to the pediatrician who said that Angelina was physically well, but had some emotional humps to get over. The doctor said that the next few weeks will be hell and that noone should hold her until we have bonded as a family and she knows that we are her forever parents. So only Mommie & Daddy can hold her for a few months and the good news is that the doc says the emotional issues are all fixable!!

We went to see Grandma & Grandpa on day 3 of being home. Angelina LOVES her grandparents.

Week 2 is getting a little better. Angelina had her first birthday on October 30th. Our friends Magda, Yvette, Bobby & Javier stopped by unexpectantly with a cake, balloons and party hats!! It was very exciting. Angelina was so happy and LOVED her balloons!! Brian & Desiree and Shilpa stopped by afterwards with a birthday present for the young lady. It turned out to be a very nice and memorable evening!

Angelina is getting use to her crib. She has been sleeping in there for the past few nights. Its a little difficult to get her to sleep though, but we are improving. We are trying to get her to take naps regularly too. She now sits in the high chair and occasionaly plays in the playpen. It just takes time and patience, but we are getting there slowly but surely.

It's so hard to believe that one month ago, we left for China and one month ago Angelina was still in the orphanage. We are so glad that she is home with us where she belongs.
